What happened?

Someone asked me yesterday "what happened to your blog?" I kept quiet and wondered to myself "when was the last time i post anything in my blog?" Something must have happened or else it was not quite like me to keep my blog a "web of spider" if you may.

Actually i did not know why i did not come to this site as this is supposed to me my personal site where i can put my thought at ease and speak out anything that bothers me or the ordinary people that i know of.

The other day someone called me at 9:30 pm and the call was answered by my 12 year old daughter and she told the caller that her father went out without the handset. The caller managed to get the fixed line number of my wife's business office and she called asking for me. That call was answered by my wife's staff and the caller asked "would David entertain any business appointment (actually compliant) and asked for the "cost" for engaging me. Very refreshing and quite unnatural as everyone who asked for my personal assistance knows that it is FREE!

My wife then asked me "may i know if we have to make appointment with you if we want to keep you to ourselves at anytime?" I fell dead silent on that as i know that she and the kids have to be side-stepped most of the time when someone calls me for assistance. Was it fair that because they are closest to me, they have to "understand" and to take a back seat every time?

Many would say that that is the price to pay when one steps into the political arena as you have become a public property and thus your personal ones have to wait. But i found the answer on that particular night as i did not return the caller's call until the next morning. Now i have truly found the balancing act and i know for certain that there are priorities in life that however you rank them you can't please everyone.

Now to the question of "hat happened?" Actually nothing happened, just that sometimes it is better to step out of the "ring" or "arena" to get a breath of fresh air and idea. Everyone appreciates you more, even yourself.

Well, you're just one step short of becoming a member of parliament - you were the DAP candidate for the Lanang Parlimentary constituency! If you won, you would have been known as the MP of Lanang, just like Lim Kit Siang and all the other bigshots.

Not everyone gets the chance to be chosen to represent a major political party (DAP in this case) to contest a parliament seat in the general election!

The you I see right now is someone weak, someone who prefers to live a quiet life, someone who is not willing to give 100% of himself to the society.

Now what if you were really voted in as the MP of Lanang? Will you be able to sacrifice more time to serve the people? Even worse, an MP would have to leave behind his family members and go to Kuala Lumpur to attend parliament seatings! By then you will have even less time with your family!

From what I can see, the people of Lanang did the right choice of choosing the SUPP candidate instead of you. You are not yet ready to become MP of Lanang. Not yet. =\

sakurai aerial,
You are quite a character! I hope you are not from Sibu or you must be living in the blind folks home in Jln Bukit Lima.

You sound like you know david well enough to judge him simply on reading "What happened?".

It is easy for us to point the finger without even having to give a thought on the real issues.

Did david said that he wants a quiet life? Did he say that he did not want to help? Did he say that he wants to be a bigshot? To take a break and balancing the needs of the family and people are the wisest chioce of a public firgure like him. Even the president of the US gets the break at CAMP DAVID if you don't know about it.

And let put the record straight, david had joint active politics since 1999 and for the past 9 years he was not been pay a single sen for the good services rendered. He had contested in 4 election and lost without giving up the people. That is why the DAP selected him to contest the Lanang seat, based on merit!!!

I live in Sibu and i know what the guy went through. He is the most outspoken politician in Sibu who we can see everyweek on the news talking about the people problem and criticising the authorities for failing the people tirelessly . He can be seen in town whenever there is problem and you can see him all over the places whenever the people neeed him such as at the site of the flood, fire, hospital, schools, EPF office etc.

Now you say he is "lazy" and weak? If only the people choosen YBs are half as hard working as he is, Sibu would not be in the poor state already. I never see the MP for Lanag speaking out for the people and if you ask the people about his performance as the MP as well as the Chairman of the SMC, you will know the answer.

david did not lost the election, the other party won on money politics. Now tell me you do not know the fact!

Come on, i have nothing aginst you but to critice a people leader like david is way out. Next time, do some research before you "speak" out for the BN!!!!

Hi,it has been a long time since i was here. Wow, what an exchange that was about David!!

Actually the fact that he left sakurai aerial's comment here without deleting it speaks volume about his maturity and characters. It shows that he has nothing to hide and that is really something.

OK, lets ask a few questions here so that we can have a more objective view of David;

1)How many politician in Sibu have a personal blog to express his view and allow comments from the people?

2)How many politician would remain steafast in the political arena after 4 losses in less than a period of 10 yesr?

3)How many politician would speak out for the rakyat for years without failure even when he holds no official position such as ADUN or MP? Rare breed isn't it?

4)How many of us ever sacrify our family for the interest of the people not to mention to give 100% ?

5)How many elected representative are really for the people and will sacrify 100% to serve the people? NONE in the World! You may have to look to the late Mother Theresa or the Pope John the second if you really want one, hahaha!!!

6)MP left behind the family and go to KL to attend parliament seating? That is the biggest joke of all!!! Does anyone know how many % of the seating our current MPs from SIBU and LANANG attented during their more than decades in office? WAKE UP, if you don't trust me, check with your MP then. Many of them considered it a trip with the tap pick up by the poor people. Did you hear them speaking out for the people in the Dewan or just simply to be the YES man of their party??

7)Ask the people in Lanang "How is your MP?". They will tell you that they don't have one. He is nowhere to be seen since the fuel price hike in June and he has not once spoken out for them when there is no rice in the market or when the price of goods soared some 40-70% since June!

I am one of the victim of the BN and i am the voter in Lanang who voted for the DAP and David in March and i will do it again!!!

To the BN and the SUPP supporters, please go check out what your leaders have done for the people, just name 3 here if you can.

Hidup DAP!
