How many days does an average man live?
Many would have given the answer using the average life span of Malaysian (either man or woman) multiply by 360 days a year; say an average Malaysian male would be 71 years multiplies by 360 day or in the case of a woman, 73 years times 360 days. That means we should have some 25,000 days to spare before death and that is really a long time, so what is the hurry to fulfill our lifetime dream, there is always a tomorrow waiting for us anyway.
But one American guru, a doctorate motivational speaker, has it another way. He reasoned that there are only a few words to describe the “days” in our lives, such as YESTERDAY, TODAY and The NEXT DAY. So, we can only find 3 different days in the dictionaries and thus we only live for 3 days in our life time.
Many would have thought “what is wrong with this Doc.?” Or “Are you nuts?” Like I said, the guru is a motivation guru who urges us to live “a purpose driven life”. Since there are only 3 days to live, it is imperative that we live to our fullest and live a meaningful life.
“Yesterday” has been forgone, and then we should live on “Today” and plan carefully for “Tomorrow”. Many of us live a life without purpose and thought there is always a tomorrow, but sometimes tomorrow never comes. We have seen many friends and love ones who left us without any warning at all and some are so young that we often thought to ourselves “what a pity, he has yet to live and enjoy his life.”
Many of us wasted our youth and spent our adulthood wondering what to do in life, what kind of man or woman we should spend our lives with, what kind of job we should pursue, and what kind of holidays to take, what kind of house to buy, what kind of car to lease, and of course what kind of club to join to boost our standing in life without really taking a moment to pause and think “what kind of good deed we should do or what kind of service we have provided for our society and what kind of world and society we want our future generation to inherit”.
One supporter once sms me with the following kind words “Thanks for what you have done, never mind that sometimes you are not been appreciated. At least you have tried and your life has been “beautified and blessed.” A very thoughtful and encouraging comment which I shall always kept in mind in what ever undertaking I shall pursue.

Somewhere it is written that an average life span is 70 and if you reach 80 and above, that is special blessing. Of course it depends on different people and their way of interpreting life. Like BN is in power for 44 years in Sarawak. Sarawakians are still supporting them. But have they really done a good job or a good job is done because of corruption and all the evils that go with it ? Look at BN in the West now. Desperate struggling to live. For a Buddhist, they say if you are a good man now in this present life, you will be rewarded with a better life when you reincarnate or reborn. But if someone is evil, the next life will find him to be an animal in the jungle. That is why Buddhist teaches don't kill because that is actually a human soul but in an animal's body because it is a punishment. Don't forget YESTERDAY because it is YESTERDAY that creates TODAY. Don't think live for TODAY only because TODAY will become TOMORROW. Why is BN in hot soup in West Malaysia ? Because at first they started out alright. Along the way, they forget what their priorities are. And if they don't do something today, there is no tomorrow for them. You are right. Many people do think about life. What is life ? Is it just wake up, work, fetch the kids, shopping, go to sleep, wake up and the cycle goes on seemingly routine like nothing is going to happen ? Then life is indeed boring. But life means living. Life does not mean dying. Your life should be meaningful or else why should you be living at all ? If God makes man in His image and He declares that it is good, that it should be good. Our lives should be good. Remember, men may not know what good things you have done. Men prefer to know the bad things. But God in heaven knoweth all. So keep you eyes fixed on the cross.
70 or 100, does it really matter? There are many who have done nothing during his century-old lives except to live by the day, i doubt they are really proud of themselves or the lives they live.
The average man lives only as long as God allows and we human beings really have no say over what our creator decides. Isn't there in the bible something about the Lord decides the destiny of us?
The topic here should draw the discussion as how we should live and what we should do during our temporary stay in this world.
So far there is only one respond tells us how important/hot this topic is to most of us. We simply do not care as long as our sinful souls and lust can be satisfied. Big house, hot car, holidays, bountiful lifestyles and of course a sexy partner if possible are what we lust and long for.
Sorry for the negative sentiment, but then i am but a poor ordinary sinful soul waiting for the God to lay pity on.
