A challenge to the SUPP and its candidates
Open Debate
I have on the 29-01-2008 posed a challenge in the press to the SUPP(BN) candidates for Lanang and Sibu, Datuk Tiong Thai King and Datuk Robert Lau, to a public debate with me and Wong Ho Leng to let the people know the political agendas and policies of both the DAP and the SUPP. The dabate is much needed in a democratic society as the voters would be able to make the correct chioce after hearing what the candidates and the political parties have to offer. No political party and candidate can refuse this kind of political debate if they want the mandate from the voters.
Clean and fair election
I also challenged Datuk Tiong Thai King(BN-Lanang) and Datuk Robert Lau(BN-Sibu) to hold a joint press conference with myself (DAP-Lanang) and Wong Ho Leng(DAP-Sibu) to pledge that both camps would not resort to money politics and would run a clean and fair election in the coming general election. I can not imagine how any candidate or any political party could refuse such a challenge as it would be like admiting that they are against clean and fair election and thus would resort to whatever means necessary to win. I want both the SUPP and its candidates to know that they can not deny the voters the rights to clean and fair election.
Meanwhile, Abdullah said he supported Mahathir's campaign to have clean and corruption-free candidates for the election. I believe that Malaysian in general can not trust that the PM would really champion a clean and fair election as Bersih Rally last year had been met with police water cannon and abuse. I would like to see Malaysian standing up and tell the PM that simple promises would not be enough this time around.
Dateline
The dateline for the SUPP to accept the challenge is the 5th of Feb. 2008 failing which the voters in both Lanang and Sibu would presume that the SUPP and its candidates do not dare to accept the challenges. The peoples in Lanang and Sibu are waiting anxiously to the debate and the pledge and i hope both candidates of the SUPP would not fail us.

P.S. This is a sequel to the 2004 general election as the candidates of both camps remain unchanged but we are confident that this time around the results would definitely be quite different.

I will fully support a debate between Barisan Nasional and the opposition parties. In fact, Obama, Clinton and the rest just went on national television in the U.S. Now it is a race between just the two of them. Obama being a gracious person said that Clinton will still be his friend whatever the election's outcome may be.
As for Malaysia, I doubt this sort of thing will happen now or in the near future. In fact, traditional tactices are still being used. Money, development and just recently Hishamuddin announced the building of 6 chinese schools. What does MCA take Malaysian Chineses for ? Even Samy Vellu also want to work with Ong Kah Ting. Wah ! First time in history, man !
You believe in Mahathir ? Just a few days ago, he endorsed the winning of Barisan Nasional. And with that Lingam tape hanging in the air, tell me if there is such a thing as a clean election ?
Mahatir is an old horse who knows his way around and why not since he ruled Malaysia for 22 years. Under him, Malaysia has become an islamic country which he declared on the 29th Sept. 2001 and the Lingamgate and of course the sacking of Tun Salleh Abbas.
But i would love his outspoken voice an=ginst Badawi as Badawi did not dare to use ISA against his old boss, and of course Najib was the cunning fox behind all this while swearing his loyalty to Badawi.
But doesn't it amaze a lot that although many know about votes- buying, who really cares. A doctor told me that people are like living death who only know how to live by the days. How true
David, forget about it. SUPP's leaders would rather hide themselves in the bush than face the DAP in front of live audiences.
They would not "wash" their faces in front of the peoples if you know what i mean. Some of them might even bring their "gangs" and resort to threats if necessary to stop their leaders being humiliated.
What a sequel this will be! The BN Vs. the people (DAP) and if there is untowards incident, the results for both the seats in Sibu area will be under the "rocket" for the next decade.
Ho Leng and David is a wonderful combination for the people. Thesetwo are the real leaders in Dap sarawak and looking at their untiring services since 2004, who else can replace them at the moment?
Malaysia would be a better placeif the opposition DAP can send in 40 rockets to the Dewan Rakyat and the lose of SPP is a blessing for the Chinese as they would be better served by the DAP.
Hidup DAP, we await the announcement of the results on D-day.
Just a Malaysian Chinese
now I see it!
