| At Brooke Drive 10(Jln Kerukup), there are a few deserted houses for many years creating health problems to the nearby residents. The vacant houses have been deserted for more than 10 years and the neighbours are suffering from mosquitoes infected disease and also fearful that the drug addicts might occupy the vacabt houses and what not. Complaints to the Sibu Municipal Council have been landed on deaf ears. The council told the residents that it is beyond their scope of duty to interfere. Under the protection of public Health Ordinance 1999 and under the by-laws of the Local govt. Ordinance 1948, the SMC is tasked to take action against the land owners and in their absence take appropriate actions to protect the well beings of the residents and to maintain a liveable environment. Please look into the matter urgently as the health and well beings of the nearby residents are at stack. Attachments
